Welcome to JoDanna’s Boutique. The name “JoDanna” is a combination of my name (Dana) and that of my beloved mother (Joanna). Though she has been gone since 1977, her beautiful spirit is never far from my heart.

Having enjoyed a successful corporate career in direct marketing for over 20 years, I have embarked on a new venture in retail ecommerce. Below is the story....

I began wearing makeup in junior high. My first foray into experimenting with eye shadow was very simple; there was only one color to wear: powder blue. After all, it was the '70’s! In my early 20’s, I noticed faint lines beginning to form around my eyes. One day, a woman stopped me in a department store’s cosmetic department, demonstrating pure mink oil. She applied it under one of my eyes, and I was amazed at the difference by the end of the day. I went back to the store, purchased a bottle and began my never-ending pursuit to take rigorous care of my skin.

Today, we have become more conscious of our health choices — not only about the foods we eat, but what we apply to our face and body. Women and men are seeking products that do not contain petrochemicals, dyes, talc or other binding ingredients. One of the brands I am currently offering is Mineral Fusion — a healthy mineral cosmetic line that contains antioxidants such as pomegranate, white and red tea and hydration properties that protect our skin’s epidermal cells. The makeup is also free of paraben, talc, fragrance and phthalates.

In my quest to add more organic and eco-friendly products to my skincare regimen, I discovered Prana SpaCeuticals™ — formulated to target distinctive skin concerns (such as acne, rosacea, hyper-pigmentation and anti-aging). Their plant-based, organic, all-natural line has been featured in publications such as Self and Organic Spa and touted in many beauty and blog forums.

Aihu, Chinese for “to cherish and protect,” features safe, plant-based, toxin-free ingredients along with therapeutic-grade essential oils. They also have an excellent home keeping line infused with fresh-cut Bulgarian lavender. Many hospitals and clinics are using these products, as they will not compromise your health or immune system. They are earth friendly, with 100% biodegradable packaging. Realtors and builders are giving some of these products as welcome gifts to enable their clients to begin their nesting adventure with healthy, safe products for their new homes.

For "going green" advocates, I have added fun, fashion insulated lunch bags designed to look and feel like handbags. Not only are they environmentally conscious, but they promote healthy and social eating. Grade school girls love them too, as they appear as stylish, "fashionistas" around the school! Packing groceries in alternative bags (to plastic store bags) is burgeoning and our designer, reusable folding bags provide a portable and easy solution. Small enough to fit inside a purse or glove compartment, they are ideal for shopping, travel, beach, baby, play. The ideas are endless.
